Prilocaine HCl Injection, USP – 4% Citanest Plain

Citanest Plain delivers rapid and reliable local anesthesia without a vasoconstrictor. Following maxillary infiltration, the onset is typically under 2 minutes, with soft-tissue numbness lasting around 2 hours. Pulpal anesthesia averages about 10 minutes, providing sufficient coverage for procedures of roughly 20 minutes.

When administered via inferior alveolar nerve block, the onset is generally less than 3 minutes, and soft-tissue anesthesia extends to approximately 2.5 hours, ensuring dependable performance for short to moderate procedures.

This product must not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to local anesthetics or in individuals with congenital or idiopathic methemoglobinemia. Standard safety practices, including aspiration prior to injection, are recommended to minimize the risk of intravascular administration.
